Welcome to GoTeleprompt (goteleprompt.com). Your privacy is our priority. Unlike traditional recording tools, GoTeleprompt is built on a “Local-First” architecture. This means your recordings and data stay on your machine.

1. The “No-Cloud” Guarantee

GoTeleprompt does not have a “backend” that stores your media.

  • Recordings: Video and audio recordings are processed entirely in your browser using technology like FFmpeg.wasm.
  • Transcriptions: AI transcriptions (Whisper-WASM) are performed on your device’s hardware. Your audio is never sent to us or any third-party AI provider.
  • No Uploads: We do not, and cannot, see, access, or store your recorded files. Once you close your browser tab, the unsaved session data is cleared.

2. Information We Collect

Because we do not require accounts, we collect very little information:

  • Technical Logs: Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type) to prevent site abuse.
  • Usage Data: We may use privacy-friendly analytics to see which tools are popular, but this is never linked to your recordings.
  • Local Storage: We save your teleprompter scripts in your browser’s localStorage so they are there when you return. This data never leaves your computer.

3. Permissions

To function, the tool requires:

  • Camera & Microphone: For video and audio capture.
  • Screen Recording: To capture your desktop or browser window.
  • Storage: To allow you to download the final 4K MP4 file.
    You can revoke these permissions at any time through your browser settings.

4. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

Under global privacy laws (like GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to:

  • Data Portability: You “own” your data; since we don’t store it, you exercise this right every time you download your file.
  • Right to Erasure: Since we don’t store your recordings, there is nothing for us to delete. To clear your scripts, simply clear your browser’s “Site Data” for goteleprompt.com.

5. Third-Party Libraries

We use open-source, industry-standard libraries:

  • FFmpeg.wasm: For video processing.
  • Transformers.js: For on-device AI transcription.
    These libraries run locally and do not track you.

6. Disclaimer of Accuracy

AI-generated features (Auto-Zoom and Transcriptions) are provided “as-is.” We are not responsible for errors in AI-generated text or video framing.
